Kyosho EP Fantom 4WD Ext 60th Anniversary Limited

Kyosho, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2023, has produced many famous cars throughout its history. The Phantom EP series of 1/12 scale electric racing cars that have been reprinted as vintage series in recent years is such a model. It has a track record, and the reprint version is also very popular among fans who know the time. And the Phantom EP-4WD Ext will be available in a 60th anniversary limited version. This model, which is the 12th model of the vintage series, has changed all aluminum parts to gold anodized finish, and adopted a limited color specification with black wheels on the front and rear. In addition, the rear differential is equipped with a newly developed ball differential, which was not available in 1985 but was highly requested. Combined with a reinforced lightweight carbon shaft that has been increased in size to 6mm, it achieves smooth cornering characteristics on various road surfaces such as asphalt and carpet. In addition, the rear damper has been upgraded to the EFW014 rear adjustable shock, which was previously an option. It is a special machine in terms of driving performance, such as improving the followability to the road surface by expanding the setting range. Since its reprint sale in 2022, the Phantom EP-4WD Ext has been very popular with new users as well as those who know the past. For users who have already enjoyed the reprint, the special and limited production 60th anniversary specification cannot be overlooked.

The Ext chassis, which combines the 3-point suspension with the ladder chain type 4WD system that appeared in 1985 and revolutionized the R/C racing world, will be reprinted in September 2022, and the 60th anniversary limited gold specification. Appeared!

The front and rear wheels are a black type limited to the 60th anniversary model. The kit comes with tires glued and diameter adjusted, so you can drive as it is without the need for diameter adjustment work with a tire setter.

The first ball-type differential in the Phantom EP series has been adopted in response to user requests. It exhibits stable cornering characteristics in combination with an ultra-lightweight carbon shaft reinforced to 6mm in diameter. A newly designed special wheel bolt is used to fix the right wheel.

The rear shaft is standard equipment made of lightweight and highly rigid carbon. The diameter of the shaft has been increased from the conventional 5mm to 6mm, greatly improving crash resistance.

The rear left wheel hub is also a gold finish 6mm type exclusively for the 60th anniversary model. Fixation is a double screw clamp type to prevent loosening while driving.

The rear adjust shock conversion (No. EFW014), which was previously sold as an optional part, is standard equipment. Fine adjustment becomes possible and setting range expands.

A kingpin coil suspension with a specially shaped spring attached to the top of the front knuckle arm. Achieves smooth cornering by inducing body roll with a slight stroke.

The rear part of the main chassis is largely cut to increase flexibility and obtain a suspension effect. Although it is a simple system, it exhibits excellent road-following performance in combination with the oil-filled rear damper.

The body faithfully reproduces the original design of the CRC-II, which features good cornering characteristics due to its high aerodynamic performance. Optional rear wing can also be installed.
