A Renault 12 Alpine? No, no, it is not a joke! This model did exist.
Exclusively reserved for the Argentinian market, it aimed to give a more modern and sporty image to Renault in the country of the Tango. The Renault 12 Alpine was equipped with the engine of the R5 Alpine and a 4-cylinder 1,397 cc with 110 horsepower. The engine was assembled on site with parts from France. This R12 Alpine was so special that it needed to be built by hand, not chain-driven. Its "black and gold" livery as well as its big "Alpine" logo made it a car that did not go unnoticed!
