1/35 Dodge WC-52
US WWII MILITARY MULTI-PURPOSE VEHICLE 3/4T DODGE WC-52
The production of versatile four-wheel-drive military trucks WC-52 with a winch began in 1941. A Braden MU-2 winch was installed on the artillery tractor, capable of pulling 3400 kg. The winch could be used both for self-recovery of stuck vehicles in muddy off-road conditions and for transporting various military cargoes. In addition to carrying cargo or soldiers in the bed, the vehicle was capable of towing a trailer or a gun weighing up to 2 tons. For example, the WC-52 trucks delivered to the USSR during the Great Patriotic War via the Lend-Lease program transported ZIS-3 divisional guns. From 1941 until the end of the war, 59 thousand WC-52 trucks were built. They served not only in the U.S. Army but were also supplied to Great Britain, the USSR, China, and the Free French Army.
